This bijou property in Kingsand has all the hallmarks of a typical Cornish cottage; painted rubblestone walls, natural slate roof and painted softwood windows. It is in a fantastic position in the conservation area – a short walk from the beach – but needed complete refurbishment when the current owners purchased it. Crayon secured planning permission to extend at the rear with a timber-framed structure to maximise the limited floor space. Elsewhere, the property was taken back to three exterior walls before being carefully reconstructed into a much loved home. Several space saving ideas were incorporated into the designs, so different furniture arrangements can allow each room to change functionally when the need arises.
