Crayon have worked with this developer on previous occasions completing a variety of projects in Plymouth. Citadel Road lies towards the north of The Hoe, in the Hoe Conservation Area, a vicinity renowned for its large terraced stucco dwellings, which are grander in scale compared to parts of the surrounding area. Built around the 1870s, the properties are characterised by ground floor cast iron railings with bottom and top friezes, keyed segmental arches to ground floor and shallow porches with vermiculated panels.

The 5-storey property is Grade II Listed and was built between 1860 and 1880, during which time much of Citadel Road and the surrounding St Andrew’s Ward area was completed. The building is of special architectural and historical interest, warranting every effort to preserve it, internally and externally. This property was once the Adelphi Hotel from 1998 and converted into 7 self-contained flats, communal lounge and basement store in 2007.

Crayon were commissioned to undertaken a variety of applications for the flats, including; a feasibility study/ planning permission/ listed building consent and building regulation applications for the ground and lower ground floors. Crayon worked very closely with the Conservation Officer to allow these projects to be realised.
