Stage: Competition Stages to Construction

After initial competition stages, Crayon was awarded the contract for the design of the new ‘drop in centre’ for a large housing association. The office is situated in the West End of Plymouth, in Frankfort Gate. This will be the client’s central office, replacing their current offices in Princess Court, Plymouth.

Frankfort gate was built around the 1950’s, during which time the Plymouth Pannier Market was also constructed. The structure is concrete slab and flank wall, poured in-situ.

Crayon was commissioned to undertake Plan of Work Stages C – L. The construction work was undertaken under a JCT Intermediate Building Contract. The clients have their own in house CDM Co-ordinator and the structural designs will be produced be Maurice Parker.
