Stage: Planning Permission & Building Regulations
Our clients currently own a four bedroom detached house in the South Hams district. Built in the late 1980’s, the construction is of concrete blockwork, exposed brick, sand-cement render and concrete tile cladding.
Crayon was commissioned to undertake stages C-H of the Plan of Work. The construction method will be self-build. The site is approx. 722m2 and the proposed work will add and additional 31m2 to the property. The brief called for a new raised terrace at the rear of the property with storage for rainwater harvesting below and associated external works. The main proposal was for a single-storey ground floor extension at the rear and the formation of a master bedroom and en-suite bathroom in the roof space above the motor garage/utility space. Other requirements were internal alterations at ground floor level to accommodate a new formal dining room, reconfiguration of the first floor landing/existing small bedroom to suit new access to proposed master bedroom and French doors to replace north facing window in the existing dining area.
