Site visit yesterday & always in awe of the beautiful details unveiling themselves as the project progresses. During the design phase, a trip to The Box, Plymouth archive room revealed a number of original openings on the plans that have been infilled over the years. These have now been reinstated and completely change how you move around the house! It’s International Women’s Day tomorrow & yesterday evening Andrea was invited to a local Brownies meeting to discuss her role as an Architect. The session’s topic was ‘skills for my future’ and the purpose was to empower the girls aged 7-10 into non-traditional female job roles. Andrea was joined by Kensa Sandham a local microbiologist & two chefs from Eat Drink Plym Uni, Hospitality Plymouth. Andrea set a task inspired by @fosterandpartners ‘children’s lockdown project’, to design a city! We had lots of hotels, vets, a library and the tooth fairy’s house! Rainy day in December ’22 for a site visit to two new build houses, Crayon designed & secured planning for in Mannamead, Plymouth. Crayon will be leading the next South West Women in Construction event! ‘Site visit to this key building and asset in Bovey Tracey. The trustees have set new directions, working with their CEO Laura Wasley. Crayon has been appointed to create a new contemporary entrance to the building, new maker spaces, areas for sculpture and other ancillary spaces.
